I felt very good to be able to donate to women in need.
I am so thankful for this opportunity given to me to be able to help someone out no matter how big or small. It meant the world to me to be able to donate these items. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity it is so appreciated!
It felt good trying to do something for people in need. Would do it again
It was very insightful, we talked about where we can get some professional attire from. We went over how we express ourselves differently and how to know when to express ourselves. Then we did the "runway" walk to the front of the room to model for the opposite side.
With it being Women’s History Month, I feel as though this was a great movie to show. Growing up, these 3 intellectual women weren’t included within my history. I love how Hidden Figures expresses the power, knowledge, and influence that Black women possess & can accomplish
it was a great movie; i didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. this is a great way to earn community service. I would do this again.
I feel this was a great experience to not only know about our history but how black African Women helped develop the build of NASA. I am always a huge fan of Taraji P. Henson in anything she plays but this movie surely stood out to me in the best way. It was a great movie!
The movie, “Hidden Figures”, tells the story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson, three smart African-American mathematicians who were very important to NASA's early space flights. It does a great job of balancing the importance of the space race with the daily problems these women had to deal with because of their race and gender.
I was a model for this event, so I had meetings with Ms. Smart and she discussed why it was important that we model for students here on campus. She explained that once we view others dressing the part and we see the same it influences others to look, act, and be apart. We want to look professional so that we can earn higher professional opportunities and careers outside of college.
The online hidden figures movie night was a great experience because I got to watch a movie about a time were African American women changed the world. While watching the movie I got details on how African Americans more specifically women were treated during the 60's. I also saw how brilliant young minds individually solved and fixed problems that helped better our world to this day.
I donated 10 items to the drive. It makes me happy to other women.
Although Hidden Figures has been out for years, this is my first time watching it completely. I knew of Katherine Johnson's story because of an engineering group I was in at my high school, but seeing the things she went through and what she did to get in every room she needed was an eye-opener. This was also my first virtual movie night and I would suggest making closed captions available.
Due to me being an off-campus student I sent 10 of the following items and am hopeful they were received. My baby had some many packs of diapers that she could not wear anymore I sent 3 packs of size 3 diapers, 2 packs of baby wipes 2 bottles of Dove Lotion, 2 twin packs of degree deodorants, and 1 set of shampoo and conditioner.
It was a great movie.
