I attended the career fair and gained insight into a few internships that I could sign up for during the summer. I love working with kids so I will be signing up for a summer camp program and a child advocacy program that I was introduced to. Starting to develop our careers now is essential, so being able to have this opportunity to learn about potential internships was great.

I donated blood to the American Red Cross. Blood donations are important for surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. So, I'm happy to know that the donation could make a life-changing impact on someone else's life who may need the donation.
I enjoyed the new Color Purple movie as I think it exemplifies the importance of continuing to persevere despite life's difficulties and obstacles. This is because despite everything Celie experienced (racial violence, oppression, gender roles, etc.) she persisted until she found her peace and was reunited with her family.
I donated 11 items to the community Thanksgiving Drive. I enjoy donating to community events, particularly holiday events like Thanksgiving as they are important times in which families and friends come together. Although, because everyone isn't fortunate enough to pay for these events on their own, providing a helping hand is something that I love helping out with.
I participated in the African American Honors collective meeting and really enjoyed the topics discussed. It was nice to have a space to listen, ask questions, and connect with other African-American students from other HBCU's who are also in the Honors College. Meetings like that are really important and impactful as they promote black excellence.
It was really fun to participate in the recording event for WEHBSEEU TV. Providing exposure to technology in relation to medicine, such as using the Anatomage table, is so important as it's like a gateway into practicing on tangible things, and or on real people. It's also important that HBCUs have access to these appliances as it allows us to get better, exposure to medicine in order to better prepare us as physicians for those in our communities.
I donated 10 items for the Sweet Way to Donate opportunity. Halloween is a really fun time as it's a time to indulge in eating sweets. I enjoyed being able to donate candy to those in the Orangeburg community as I know it'll bring someone lots of joy during this holiday season.
I donated $15 to the Brookdale Elementary School book fair because it's important for those of younger generations to have access to materials to read and learn. Reading at a young age helps children gain knowledge, understanding, and reasoning skills. Skills that are all so important in order to grow into a smart adult.
