I helped the Claflin Tour Guide and Ambassador Association by engaging prospective students in fruitful discussions about the college experience at Claflin, alongside other students from the institution.
I helped prospective students and parents with a tour around campus. Providing them with knowledge and insight about the college experience at Claflin University.
I downloaded the app and it has helped me stay connected with my peers throughout this academic school year.
Presented my research at the Honors Research Symposium on the Black Agenda. My work discusses the effects of racial capitalism on the poverty rates for Black Americans. The project comprises a historical analysis of primary sources and a close reading of secondary sources.
Gave a tour to a prospective student who was in their junior year of high school. The student was accompanied by their father who both found the campus to be very enjoyable. The tour was in-person.
Developed and presented on my summer research with the UNCF/Mellon Mays research program. The presentation discussed my research on the Black Agenda and Racial Capitalism. The conference was virtual and was created in honor of our former director who recently passed due to Breast Cancer.
Assisted perspective Orangeburg county high school students at the local college fair hosted at Claflin University. Also, worked with other tour guides in facilitating the event along with the rest of the Admissions staff. The experience was very fulfilling, and I enjoyed working as a guide for upcoming students.
