The conversation with President Warmack and the Congressman was very enlightening. It was nice to see a minority with power and hear his perspective on certain issues. I was also surprised that he wrote about Claflin in his book.
Unfortunately, I could not find the community service event for Read Across America. It was fun reading to the kids, and they enjoyed it as well. The class that I read to were very interested in college life.
I’m glad that we have this platform. Panther-X will make events more known and accessible.
Helping at the Presidential Gala was a great experience. We helped set up, serve, and clean up. Plus, we got a chance to see SWV perform.
Presenting for the Research Symposium made me feel good about the work I did over the summer. It was also nice to hear students give feedback during and outside of the symposium.
It was really fun volunteering at Boo @ the Zoo. I look forward to volunteering again next year. I was in the section by the sea lions and passed candy out to kids. I also met another Mass Communications major, she graduated from USofC.
I sometimes forget that African Americans weren't originally granted rights. It makes me appreciate our struggles and accomplishments much more.
I enrolled into TimelyCare this year and last semester. I have not used the platform yet, but I do plan on using it. I'm grateful Claflin has this partnership because it shows that they care about our mental health.
