I worked in the children's room and helped organize put away the donated clothing. There weren't a lot of clients today most likely due to the widespread fear of the Coronavirus. While working from 11:00 - 2:00 they closed St. Francis House at 12:00 to disinfect the rooms, which was not fun to be in a room while they were using the disinfecting spray. We had to wear gloves while handling donations and interacting with the clients that come in. When I came in I was immediately given hand sanitizer to use before wearing gloves as an extra precaution.

I helped out in the woman area. I helped organize and speak to the women that came in for services. I had a great conversation with one of the women that came in. We talked about her children and the importance of education.
This was a rare occurrence where they had more volunteers present then they had work to do. I was going to stay longer, but there was nothing for me to help with.
I helped organize the items that were donated into different bins. I had a good experience while doing so while talking to the other volunteers. I was able to learn more about the donations that come through and the quality to which is acceptable.
I worked in the children's area again and I was able to help organize the clothing and communicate with customers. The only flaw with the children's room is that there is not a sign or piece of paper on the wall to inform people how many articles of clothing parents can grab. I have had multiple moments where I had to ask other workers who also didn't even know as well. This can be easily fixed though.
I worked from 11:00 - 2:00 at different areas that my services were needed. Today when I first arrived there students from a local middle school helping out that completed most of the work needed so it there wasn't a lot for me to do in the first hour. However, after the kids left I was able to help out in the women's area again and talk to the customers directly and help them with their needs.
