We discussed women in government and law with Attorney Waverly. She shared valuable information on her career and the do's and don'ts of the field.
The motivational speaker, Dr. Terrance McClain, shared over the course of five days what it takes to be successful the Men of Color Leadership Summit. His strategy was very interactive as we were able engage in Kahoot quizzes to test our knowledge on the information he shared.
Today, we celebrated the 92nd birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. He has been and still has a very important part of the Black community and the revolution of change we are still standing for in today's society.
Fafsa aids in funding for schooling for students who cannot afford to come out of pocket with money the do not have. I'm glad I completed it early.
Turbovote assists in speeding up the voter's registration process. I also gives options to mail in ballots due to COVID-19 as many are still skeptical in regard to going outdoors.
Claflin Telehealth allows access to 24/7 medical, mental health coaching and support. Any undergrad enrolled at Claflin University has access to these services. Additionally, the physicians and counselors can treat and common condition and discuss the best course of action for recovery and improvement.
At the polls, I helped campaign for a candidate who was running for District chair in my community. During election this year, tensions were high and nothing short of nerve wrecking. However, the experience was great and it builds and shapes ones character. As a first time voter, I was actually excited to have a first hand view on how things work during a long day of voting.
The speakers shared informative knowledge with us on preparing for professional resumes, how to land internships, and career readiness. We learned and understood the Do’s and Don’ts of professionalism in Community Service. This caused me to revisit, revise, and edit my own, bringing it up to date and only having things necessary to my career pathway and goals
