Within the Children's DayCare of Greater Faith Baptist Church, I became a volunteer of this unit at the start of my freshman year of college. Having the pleasure of working with children is an overwhelming joy. It's also a thrill watching them grow, learn, and play. Because I enjoyed them so much, I've decided to volunteer again for my sophomore year. Due to having a lot of free time my fall semester, I manage to complete the majority of my community service hours within one semester by being a volunteer at Greater Faith. I am planning to continue volunteering here throughout the rest of my college tenure.
Within this community service, I helped my dance advisor Professor Cedric Rembert build the set for his play. Building the set took a total of over 2 days to complete. We've put together walls, drilled nails, screwed things together and moved around quite a bit.
In the duration for my volunteer work at the soup kitchen of Greater Faith Baptist Church, I had the opportunity of meeting some wonderful people a part of the Orangeburg Community. It's an amazing feeling helping others in the positive way that I did and seeing how each person benefited from it. As I continue out my college tenure, it is my hope to continue being a volunteer of this locale.
