Drafted Success Stories for Legal Aid Tax Attorney
Drafted memo for Jennifer over offer-in-compromise
First try at preparing a tax return. Looking forward to reviewing and making changes on Friday with Staff Attorney. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to meet with the client once review is filed. This is a complicated case, and requires information for the calendar years of 2016-2019. As such, we will have to consider the changes in the tax code that the new administration has put forth. Looking to see how the 2016 Fed return, which allows deduction for dependents compares with the 2019 return which has done away with all misc. deductions but has raised the standard deduction for individuals.
This time around, I completed Donna's estate plan after she requested changes that required us to draft a trust rather than use beneficiary deeds. I also drafted a POA and an end of engagement letter (this process took two hours of time). After completing the document, Professor Circo and I met with Donna to have the will witnessed and review her estate plan (this process took two hours as well, from 10-12).
Began drafting Client's Will, Beneficiary Deed, and Power of Attorneys. Also had a brief conversation with client to obtain and confirm certain information. After getting started on these documents, I met with Professor Circo to discuss the progress that I made. While there is still some work to do on her estate plan, it should be complete by the end of next week.
Met with Professor Circo to address client’s estate planning concerns. Discussed Federal Regulation implicating client’s ability to sell or convey encumbered real property.
Consulted with Professor Circo about the terms of client’s engaugement agreement and the terms of that agreement. Went to clients house to have them sign the engaugement agreement and began compiling client’s questions and concerns for Circo.
