Higher Achievement

About

Higher Achievement is a rigorous, supportive, and fun afterschool program for 5th-8th grade scholars, culminating in placement in college preparatory high schools. We understand that no two scholars are alike. However, we are all united in a strong belief in our four social justice pillars—voice, freedom, justice, and solidarity—and all students leave the program ready and able to pursue their ambitions. Higher Achievement seeks to build a world where every child’s promise and potential are realized, regardless of circumstance.

The Commitment:

  • After school (3:45-6:30 pm- flexible hours can be discussed), 1-4 days/week.
  • Work with a small group of scholars as they engage in homework and activities to build on scholars’ strengths and reflect their cultures and values.
  •  Center support, setting up for activities, electives, and possible office duties.
  • No experience is required! Training and activities provided.
